Following Monday night’s victory in Tampa Bay, a number of Eagles players, including center Jason Kelce and quarterback Jalen Hurts, stated that they had been playing despite illness.
Flu-like symptoms were described as part of the sickness. It’s unknown if the players underwent COVID testing.
Hurts claimed he only needed to concentrate on his performance because he had previously played during prime time while ill.
I’ve dealt with this before and have had to work with something similar on other occasions. And for some reason, it always occurs on Monday night,” Hurts stated, according to ESPN.
As per Kelce, other Eagles were also experiencing illness.
“Right now, it seems like everyone on the planet is. It’s kind of picking back up now. We had a lot of guys on the team this week. Maybe it’s just that time of year in Philadelphia, Kelce remarked.
The Eagles had a short week to prepare for Sunday’s game against the Commanders in Philadelphia.
